Domestic Dispute Leads To ‘Grow House’ Arrests

The afternoon of May 10 Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to a possible domestic dispute near Hillsboro. Upon arrival they met with several individuals and attempted to mediate the situation.

While conducting their investigation the deputies discovered a suspected marijuana grow operation as well as a total of 31 firearms.

Ashlea Collins was charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, drugs not in original container and purchase/possess/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana.

Eddie Rice was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and battery.

Other incidents in the last week or so include the theft of money from gambling machines at an address on West Greene Street.

In addition, several cars in Turtle Cove were broken into over the weekend. A gun was taken from an address on Laney Court, and gasoline was siphoned from a vehicle on Grandview. In addition, a resident of Persons Street complained of cash and slides being stolen from her home on Mother’s Day.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Christy Lawanda Watson, 38, Milledgeville—probation violation.

•Sarah Renee Kraft, 27, Covington—theft by taking.

•Zachary Eugene Bradley, 33, Macon—probation violation.

•Jonathan Matthew Tallent, 28, Monticello—speeding, no insurance and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Donald Shayne Fortner, 48, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating an unregistered vehicle and open container.

•Dondra Bagley, 41, Covington—hold for warrant in Morgan County.

•Faaruwq Abdullah Muhammad, 36, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and no proof of insurance.

•Jonas Nigel Smith, 39, Newborn—purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution/or sale of marijuana, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute obstruction of a law enforcement officer, drug related objects and tampering with evidence.

•Marcos Javier Moore, 21, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Lisa Summer Cox, 24, Monticello—battery.

•Matthew Conan Barber, 36, Covington — criminal trespass.

•Kiandra Leanna Washington, 19, Macon—driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to stop at a stop sign and Jasper County Probate bench warrant for failure to appear.
