JCMS Soccer Splits With Loganville
The Jasper County Middle School soccer teams took on Loganville Middle School for their last home games. It was also eighth grade recognition night last Thursday.
The Lady Canes fell short 5-1, but not before a breakaway goal by Hailey Roper. Colbie Ramsey helped lead the defense while Addison Jones and Madelyn Taylor had several great passes and close calls on goal.
The JCMS boys soccer team played an amazing game, coach Ashley Clegg said, which was scoreless after regulation play. Following two 5-minute overtimes, the score remained deadlocked at 0-0.
As the Canes went into their first round of five penalty kicks, goals were scored by Angel Martin and Carson Clark. The score remained tied 2-2 after the initial round of kicks.
In the final round, after three saves by goalie Ricardo Sanchez-Hernandez, the Canes sealed the win with penalty kicks made by Bryson Jackson and Wyatt Burris.
