Patricia Whidby Smith

A celebration of life for Patricia Whidby Smith, who died March 4, 2021, was held March 10 at South View Cemetery in Monticello. Rev./Dr. Jimmy Horton officiated.

Mrs. Smith was born on September 24, 1953 to Mrs. Ida Lee Thomas Whidby and the late Robert Whidby Sr.

She was a talented person who worked in many capacities, namely a bank teller, teachers aide, and cleaning services.

Going on Sunday outings, baking, knitting, playing bingo and being with family and friends was very enjoyable for her, as well as singing in the choir.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Lee Whidby and a sister, Shirley Whidby Campbell.

She is survived by and dearly missed by her husband, Robert Smith; son, Robert Smith, of Monticello; daughter, Setonya Smith of New York; four grandchildren, Tiara Sims, Taylor Sims, Marceilus Smith and Jasmine Smith; two great-grandchildren Haiden Sims and Tyson Brown; a loving mother, Mrs. Ida Lee Whidby; brothers, Glen Whidby of Jackson and Robert Whidby, Jr. of Monticello; sisters, Wendale Whidby and Gloria Whidby, both of Monticello; also sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
