Toney Lee Thurman

A memorial service, celebration of life for Toney Lee Thurman, who died February 24, 2021, was held March 5, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello. Rev./Dr. Jimmy Horton officiated.

Toney Lee Thurman was born on February 5, 1963 to Annie Lois Clark and Gus Thurman in Monticello. After graduating from high school, he became self employed as a landscaper and construction worker. Toney enjoyed helping people, hanging out with friends, and eating at Big Chic.

He is survived by his children, Kristie Thurman of New York, Darcus Lane (Sherina) of Eatonton, Joshua Johnson of Monticello, and Aaliyah Thurman of Madison; grandchildren, Symone Lane, Samaaki Lane, Ahmad Lane and Kenwanna Lane; siblings, Gus Thurman, Jr., Ida Mae Cherry, Joe Henry Thurman, Carrie Mae Elder, Johnny Edmond Thurman, Willie Roy Clark, Linda Lois Clark, David Ronald Thurman, Walter Charles Thurman, Lillian Dena Thomas, Elbert Dennis Thurman, Sandra Marie McGuire, and Tony Lee Thurman. Also, a host of other family and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
