Hurricane Cheerleaders Attend Awards Banquet

Jasper County High School (JCHS) Cheerleaders recently hosted their season ending banquet.

The 2020-2021 season held many rewards and challenges. This year, the Competition Cheer Team and Sideline Cheerleaders reunited to form one team.

Athletes who cheered at games also competed during the competitive season (November through February). Twenty young ladies cheered this season. A regular cheer season lasts from July through November. However, because of COVID challenges, the season was extended through February. This team cheered and competed together for eight months.

At the banquet, several awards were given, including:

•Coach’s Award 2020-2021–Briana Dekle

•Most Improved Award 2020-2021– Abby Byrd

•Academic Award 2020-2021–Jaylyn Williams-Wyatt

•Most Spirit Award 2020-2021–Madeline Dekle

•Positive Athlete Award 2020-2021–Emma Holmes

•Most Valuable Player 2020-2021–Kate Miller
