Canes, Lady Canes Begin New Track Season
Both the Jasper County-Monticello High School varsity girls and boys track teams had several standout performances in their 2021 season debuts.
For the Lady Canes, JaKara Tobler won the 800-meter run in 2:53.80.
Brianna Dalton had a strong showing in both distance events winning the 1,600-meter run in 6:44.20 and the 3,200-meter run in 14:36.
Geralynn Benton won the high jump for the boys with a mark of 5-08.
The event also included West Lauren, Strong Rock, Lamar County and Mary Persons.
