Juvenile Who Was Shot Is Recuperating at Home
The juvenile victim who was shot last week has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
No charges are anticipated in this incident with the juveniles, according to an announcement from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
However, as a result of this investigation, the father of the juveniles, Jameal Rashad Jefferies, 29, of Monticello was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of cruelty to children and two counts of reckless conduct.
Officers with the JCSO also are investigating several incidents of entering an auto in the Turtle Cove area the end of last week. In addition, a resident reported the theft of University of Tennessee cornhole boards. There were also a couple of reports of identity fraud, a crime that is seen virtually every week.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Jesse Earl Whitton, 46, Madison—probation violation.
•Antonio Ashton Juhan, 29, Monticello—probation violation.
•Desmond Rashan Middlebrooks, 32, Monticello—probation violation.
•Jerald Jake Landress, 31, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.
•Marcus Mandress Campbell, 40. Monticello—probation violation, duty of driver to stop at or to return to scene of an accident and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Da’Antron Kapedro Ammons, 41, Hillsboro—speeding, driving while license suspended or revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and open container.
•Robert Wayne Stephens, 38, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Randall Craig Hegwood, 40, Covington— probation violation.
•Anthony Vidal Tucker, 26, Milledgeville—speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, theft by receiving stolen property, improper lane change and failure to maintain lane.
•Tajh Lynn Henderson, 21, Decatur—false statements or writings, conceal facts or fraudulent documents and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Elbert Thurman, 61, Lithonia—failure to register as sex offender/failure to comply with requirements.
