Several Lady Canes Named for All Region After Standout Season
The Jasper County-Monticello High School varsity softball team had several standout performances during the 2020 season.
The Lady Canes advanced to the state playoffs and posted 14 victories.
Tre’uana Jacobs had a .406 batting average with 12 RBI and 19 runs scored. Bailey Jenkins finished the season with a .395 batting average with four homers and 18 runs batted in (RBI) with 20 runs scored.
Kate Robinson batted .412 with two homeruns, 10 doubles and 19 RBI. Azure Guli compiled a .319 batting average while driving in 15 runs. Taylor Rutledge had a .309 batting average with 15 RBI while Allie Jones finished the season with a .342 average with 10 RBI.
Hailie Tripp finished the season with a .321 batting average with 11 RBI.
In the pitcher’s circle, Jenkins earned 13 victories with an earned run average of 1.96.
Chris Jenkins and fellow Region 3-AA coaches met last week to determine All-Region performers for 2020. The Lady Canes had several players recognized.
Jenkins was the Region 3-AA Pitcher of the Year for the 2020 season while Jacobs was a first team All-Region outfielder with Robinson being recognized as first team All-Region for the infield.
Rutledge, Tripp, Allie Jones and Azure Guli were each second team All-Region for the Lady Canes.
