Movie Company Will Film in Monticello Next Week

Movie filming will take place in Monticello next week.

SGJK10, LLC will be filming scenes for the new film Southern Gospel in the area. On Monday, Oct. 5, they will film scenes in the Jasper County Courthouse and downtown Monticello, and the approximate hours of filming will be from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. All hours are subject to change due to weather and schedule changes.

No parking will be allowed on the Square Monday, and there will be intermittent traffic control on streets around the Square. Jasper County deputies will be assisting the film crew with traffic control.

Emergency vehicles, school buses and the postal service will be allowed access throughout the day, said the announcement from the producer.

The filming crew will have a base camp at Monticello Baptist Church.

“We realize that we are guests in your city and your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,” said the announcement from the film company.

The movie company is permitted to be in the city next week.
