Earnest Sands, Sr.

A celebration of life for Earnest Sands, Sr. was to be held yesterday, Sept. 16, 2020 at New Community Cemetery, 4981 Hwy 11 South, in Hillsboro. Rev. Reymond Sands, eulogist.

Mr. Sands was born August 1, 1936 in Jasper County to the late Bennie Sands, Sr. and Annie Mae Sands. September 10, 2020, God called him home.

He worked for Feldspar Inc., where he retired after 40 years.

In 1956, he married Willie Dee Lloyd Sands and to this union nine children were born.

Preceding him in death: his first wife, Willie Dee Lloyd; and children: Cathy Sands, Barbara Lynn Sands and Earnest Sands, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Emma Jean Carter Sands, children: Juanita (Fred) Jordan, Don (Vivian) Sands, Vickie (Terry) Glawson, Janet Lynwood, Gregory (Sonja) Sands, Reymond (Aretha) Sands, Darlene (James) Whidby and Glennetta Whitlock. 23 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. One brother, David Sands. Three sisters: Sally Kate Sands, Eulady (Early) Johnson and Christine (Tommy) Clemons. Brother-in-law, Willie Charles Standifer. Sister-in-law, Georgia Ree Sands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
