Mrs. Linda M. McGuire

A celebration of life for Mrs. Linda Marie McGuire, who died August 1, 2020, was held Saturday, August 8, at Shady Dale Community Cemetery in Shady Dale. Rev. Calvin Searcy, eulogist.

Mrs. McGuire was born on August 11, 1959 to the parentage of the late James Water, Sr. and the late Johnny Mae Searcy.

Mrs. McGuire died at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. McGuire enjoyed working in her yard. Her favorite flowers were roses. She loved family and taking care of her grandchildren along with other neighborhood children. She invited anyone into her home as their own. In her free time, she loved working her puzzle books, cooking her favorite soul food, and listening to her favorite music (Mary J. Blige—”Just Fine” and 2Pac— “Dear Mama”). Linda was full of life.

Mrs. McGuire was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Lee McGuire, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Markey Waters (Tiffany) of McDonough, Willie McGuire, III (Sameitra) of Monticello, and Rodriquez of Griffin; a daughter, Cierro Loyd (Terrance) of Lithonia; five grandchildren, Kourtlynn Waters, Ja’Camri McGuire, Leland McGuire, Ashtyn Loyd, and Ariah Osborne; two brothers, Calvin Searcy (Janice) of Covington and James Waters (Georgia), also of Covington; a sister, Emily Vinson (Carl) of Monticello, a special friend, Terry Lynch, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
