James Steven ‘Steve’ Shaw
James Steven “Steve” Shaw, 46, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Steve Shaw was born on October 23, 1973 to the late William Crosby Shaw and Dorothy Ann Batchelor Shaw. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County and a member of Smithboro Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Steve enjoyed hunting fishing and land management. He worked as the Macon area metering supervisor for Georgia Power.
He is survived by his wife, Cheri S. Shaw of Monticello; children, Amanda (Clint) Fields of Milledgeville, Julia Ann Shaw of Milledgeville and Caden Shaw of Monticello; grandchildren, Alea Fields, Mikey Fields and Evea Fields; and brother, Doug Shaw of Monticello.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2020 at Smithboro Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor John Milam will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Caden Shaw, Clint Fields, Noah Enrriquez, Brandon Skeels, Doug Shaw and Levi Shaw.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service at Smithboro Baptist Church Cemetery.
A Steve Shaw Memorial account has been set up at Ameris Bank for the education expenses of Mr. Shaw’s children. Or donations to the Muscular Dystophy Association would be appreciated.
