Suspects Identified; Several Arrested

The two individuals who were shown in last week’s Monticello News after they broke into Washington Park Elementary School have been identified and charges are pending, according to an announcement from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

In other crime news this week, as the result of a joint investigation with the Sheriff’s Office in Rowan County, N.C., JCSO executed a search warrant on a residence in north Jasper County. Cody Dukes, 29, was arrested and charged with inappropriate internet contact with a child and sending obscene communications to a child.

That happened last Wednesday. Also, last Wednesday, July 1, Terry Thompson was arrested and charged with theft by taking. This was the result of an investigation into a stolen pressure washing trailer that was originally reported June 4, 2020. Albert Antonio Gantt has outstanding arrest warrants in this case.

Warrants are outstanding for Eric James McMichael for two counts of vandalism to a place of worship and one count of burglary in the second degree.

On Friday, July 3, Jaylin Daniel and Kelby Williams were arrested and charged with robbery and criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Others who were arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Martha Faye Holloway, 53, Newborn—aggravated stalking, simple battery and obstruction of a law enforcement officer (two counts).

•Henry Thompson Sullivan, III, 46, Macon—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and seat belt violation.

•Marvis Armel Wyman, 39, Monticello—aggravated assault.

•Nathan Cole Piper, 22, Covington—fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Robert Todd Bradley, 55, Tignall—financial identity fraud.

•Thomas Mark Whitford, 49, Mansfield—failure to obey regulatory markers and operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Terry Charles Ray, 38, homeless—possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.

•Michael Anthony Dempsey, 20, Covington—probation violation.

•Robert Randal Smith, 62, Concord—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and holding /supporting a wireless communication device.

•Larandy Steven Gotel, 38, Monticello—aggravated stalking.
