Monticello Hires New Manager

The Monticello City Council met in a called meeting last Thursday, and voted to hire Angela H. Redding as the new city manager.
Tim Young, previous city manager resigned as of June 30.
Ms. Redding began work Tuesday at Monticello City Hall.
Angela H. Redding is a native of Cordele. She is a woman of deep faith, a devoted wife and loving mother. During her career she has worked in the areas of accounting, management information systems, and human resources.
Mrs. Redding has more than 20 years local government experience as a Management Analyst and City Manager.
Her community involvement includes being an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is also an active member of Global Impact Christian Ministries.
Mrs. Redding served on various boards including Leadership Clayton where she served as Chairperson of the Leadership Clayton Advisory Board from 2004-2014, two terms as Chairperson of the United Way Fundraising Cabinet, the University of Georgia Clayton County Archway Partnership Executive Committee and on the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance Board.
Further honing her leadership skills, she is a graduate of Leadership Clayton, Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and the Atlanta Regional Commission Regional Leadership Institute.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Morris Brown College and attained her MBA from Mercer University. Angela is a member of the Georgia City County Management Association (GCCMA) and the International City County Manager Association (ICMA).
In 2019, she was recognized as an Outstanding Georgia Citizen by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
