Perpetrators Sought For School Break-in

PERPETRATORS AT WASHINGTON PARK

On Friday, June 26, deputies responded to a call of vandalism at Washington Park Elementary School.

Upon arrival the deputies observed several vulgar mes- sages written on the boards in the school, and began reviewing the surveillance system footage from inside the building. The two suspects entered the building during the afternoon of June 14th. While inside the two suspects wrote on the white boards, damaged an American Flag, and also ate ice cream, chips and soft drinks.

Also, on Sunday, June 28, deputies responded to a call that involved a suspicious person. After approximately 24 hours of investigation the suspect was identified and located. Deputies and investigators used that information to obtain and execute a search warrant off Whispering Pines Drive.

The suspect, James Pitt- man, 26, of Covington was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies also investigated the theft of tools from an ad- dress on Blue Heron Drive. Deputies also discovered a break-in at an address on Hwy. 16 west, which is still under investigation.

Lastly, some $40 was taken from an address on Church Street.

Persons arrested in the last week, in addition to Mr. Pittman, and their charges, include:

•Kristopher Gregg Beveridge, 19, Conyers—possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and failure to maintain lane.

•Mark Dewayne Digby, 41, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•William Carl Milford, 43, Monticello—battery.

•Austin Taylor Blankenship, 23, Monticello—battery.

•Kyle Scott Stiles, 27, Mansfield—criminal trespass.

•David Andres Sanchez-Duenas, 31, homeless—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Larandy Steven Gotel, 38, Monticello—cruelty to children-3rd degree (four counts), simple battery and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Terry Lynn Thompson, 59, Monticello—theft by taking and probation violation.

Deputies also conducted 113 premises checks, 106 traffic stops, served 23 civil papers, responded to 19 subject needs officer, 12 each roadway hazard, mechanical breakdown and alarms, 10 assist motorist, and numerous other calls of various types, including accidents and much more.
