Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Williams

A celebration of life for Nathaniel “Nate” Williams, was held Sunday, May 3, at new Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison. Minister Anthony Williams of Browns Hill Baptist Church in Monroe offered words of comfort. Rev. Bernard Hamp is pastor.

Mr. Williams, 61, of Madison transitioned from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. He as the youngest child of the late J.C. Williams and Lizzie Mae Shy Williams.

Nate, his siblings and cousins were inseparable and he had a passion for basketball. He played, coached and taught many boys and girls. Nate was a big brother and father figure to a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Frank James Williams and Amos Elijah Williams.

Nathaniel leaves cherished memories to his brothers: Freeman Williams, J.C. Williams (Martha Louise) both of Madison, Johnny Williams (Dianne) of Hillsboro, and Jack Williams (Angela) of Eatonton; sisters, Inez Floyd and Geraldine Franklin (Milfred) both of Madison, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
