Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicle; Take Reports
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) had a relatively quiet week with residents “sheltering at home” during this COVID-19 pandemics.
Deputies did investigate a report of a camper being taken from an address on Jackson lake Road. In addition, a golf cart was reported missing from Blue Heron Drive. A stolen vehicle was recovered on Herds Creek Road.
There was also another report of entering an auto on Hwy. 83 south…something that happened twice last week. Residents are urged to take belongings inside and/or lock their vehicles.
Deputies also investigated a report of financial transaction card fraud.
Persons who were arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•John Garland Thomason, 60, Hillsboro—probation violation.
•Bruce Rudolph Rochester, 32, Monticello—cruelty to children-1st degree and battery (2 counts).
•Michael Harvey Drake Young, 26, Monticello—aggravated assault and battery.
•Kenneth Dernal Standifer, 62, homeless—aggravated stalking.
•Bradley Joseph Klepsig, 32, Monticello—battery.
