Burglaries, Arrests Are Reported

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigated numerous burglaries and other incidents recently, including theft of a tractor, tree digger, bush hog and trencher from an address on Hwy. 212 east, and the theft of a Suzuki dirt bike from an address in Turtle Cove.

In what was determined to be drug-related, several hand tools were taken from an address on Hwy. 83 south. A racing ATV was taken from an address on Glenview Loop.

There was also a report of bad checks at Monticello City Hall, and shoplifting from Larry’s 4-Way.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•John Christian Prescott, 32, Covington—financial identity fraud.

•Stephen Block Sawyer, 40, Monticello—probation violation.

•Christopher Adam Toney, 34, Jackson—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a Scheduled II controlled substance.

•Christie Thomas Hill, 33, Monticello—probation violation.

•Jacklyn Elizabeth Travis-Andrews, 22, Monticello—children molestation (two counts).

•Russell Thomas Brickman, 17, Athens—aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

•Blake Charles Shannon, 47, Shady Dale—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane and open container.

•Willie Frank Pitts, 52, Madison—failure to obey traffic devices and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Walter Lee Dorough, Jr., 33, Hillsboro—violation of Adult Treatment Court Collaborative.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 53, Shady Dale—public drunkenness and public indecency.

•Mikhail Lamar Allison, 32, Monticello—battery and cruelty to children-3rd degree.

•Mary Louise Gonyou, 37, Eatonton—hold for warrant in Newton Co.
