60th ANNIVERSARY

Earl and Sally Dehlman

Earl and Sally Dehlman of Turtle Cove celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on February 22. They were married in Johnson City, N.Y. in 1960 and have six children, 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The are having a party this weekend at Turtle Cove, where they have lived since 1994. Mr. Dehlman won a boat from the Atlanta Boat Show in 1989 or 1990, and they needed a place to use the boat. That brought them to Jackson Lake, where they would come down fishing. They ended up building a house in Turtle Cove, and have been there since 1994. They came from Riverdale, where he worked as a mechanical engineer and she was a nurse. They both retired on the same day in 1999, and have thoroughly enjoyed retirement. They have a trip planned later this year down the Danube from Amsterdam to Budapest. Mr. and Mrs. Dehlman met on a blind date, and they were both still in school when they married. They moved to Atlanta in 1973. They said that they do a lot together and they like to travel. They agreed that they are thoroughly enjoying their retirement together.
