2019 Shooting Is Solved; Two Arrested for Assault
Last year, on the evening of April 22, 2019, deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Mason Street and Benton Street.
Upon arrival they discovered that a large group of people gathered on Mason Street had been shot at by several individuals who were standing at the intersection of Benton and Fred Smith Street. After a 10-month investigation by the JCSO, warrants for the crime of Aggravated Assault were obtained February 5, 2020 for the two adult suspects. A juvenile complaint was filed for a third suspect, who can not be named.
Atravion Strickland, 20, and Agarion Watson, 17 of Jackson, as well as one juvenile have all been charged, and the adults have been arrested in this case. Mr. Strickland is 20 years old, from Jackson, and Mr. Watson is 17 years old, also from Jackson.

•Brittany Leigh Baker, 33, Covington—possession of methamphetamine.
•Mary LeeAnn Harvey, 38, Jackson—possession of methamphetamine, passing in a no passing zone.
•Deanna Marie Barlow, 20, Covington—theft by taking.
•Kent Raymond Morris, Jr., 37, Stone Mountain—probation violation.
•Dontravious Rashaad Thompson, 18, Covington—probation violation.
•Christopher Benton Carroll, 20, Jackson—purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana, possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of a crime.
•Kent Anthony Miller, 36, Eatonton—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Emily Alexis Norred, 20, Jackson—obstruction of law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.
•Alfonso Victrum, Jr. 45, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Syreeta Nicole Manning, 39, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.
•Princess Louise Sands, 30, Monticello—false statements and writings, criminal trespass, and reckless conduct.
•Michael Eugene Sullivan, 47, Conyers—possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.
•Andrea Marie King, 29, Monticello—theft by conversion.
