Cases Are Settled in Superior Court
Judge William Prior, Jr. presided over the Jasper Superior Court motion day, criminal, and arraignment calendars last Tuesday. With many of the cases continued, Judge Prior ruled on a dozen criminal cases with the following sentences.
Ricky Dale Johnson was sentenced to 180 days in Jasper County jail (JCJ) for driving while license suspended which also violated his previous probation conditions. He was credited for time served since December 2019.
Johnny Horton, probation revoked to two years in state penal system for driving while license suspended, failure to report to probation office, and failure to complete community service.
Marchinlo Wyman, probation revoked to 180 days in JCJ for failure to report to probation office, failure to pay court fines, and failure to provided proof of substance abuse evaluation.
Christian Gilreath, probation revoked to 64 days in JCJ for failure to report to probation office, failure to pay court fines, and failure to complete family violence intervention program.
James Cates, probation revoked to 60 days in JCJ for positive drug test, failure to report to the probation office, and failure to pay court fines.
David Knighten, probation revoked to 57 days in JCJ for new charge of simple battery, criminal trespass, and possession of a schedule II narcotic, a positive drug test, failure to complete the risk reduction program, and failure to pay court fines.
Jennifer Trent, probation revoked to 45 days in JCJ for failure to report change of address, failure to report to the probation office, failure to complete community service, and failure to provide proof of substance abuse evaluation.
Cory Autry, probation revoked to 30 days in JCJ for failure to report to the probation office.
Amber McEver, sentenced to enter a long term rehabilitation facility for at least six months for positive drug test and new offense of driving under the influence.
Pre-trial diversions were granted to Alicia Person for a case involving identity fraud and theft by taking and to Bridgette Durham for a charge of simple battery.
