Jessie Christian
A celebration of life for Jessie Christian, who died December 5, 2019, was held December 14, 2019 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Dr. Jimmy Horton is pastor. Rev. Rufus Whitlock officiated.
Jessie Christian known by many as “Mank” was born August 20, 1957 to the parentage of the late Mrs. Hazel C. Robinson of Monticello and the late Jessie Pellman of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Christian of Atlanta and a sister, Emma R. Christian of Monticello.
Jessie Christian departed this life on December 5, 2019 at Pruitt Healthcare in Macon.
He graduated from Jasper County High School in 1976. He had a number of trades throughout his lifetime. Earlier in life, he was employed at Calmaine and recently Stewart Septic Services, and Gude Flooring until his health declined. Jessie was very hardworking and dedicated.
His most memorable time here on earth was spent with his family and friends. He loved God and loved reading and studying the Bible. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing, shooting pool, singing, dancing, listening to music, and just enjoying life. He had a passion for wearing his cool caps and charming smile.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one devoted son, Cedric Deon Christian (Demetra) and one devoted daughter, Chenera De’Shannon Christian, both of Monticello; grandsons, Cedric Christian, Jr. and Jerien Christian, both of Eatonton and Ky-mani Christian of Monticello; beloved nieces, Samantha Reid of Charleston, S.C.; Samethia Maddox, Charlecia Reid, and Malaysia Reid, all of Eatonton; beloved nephews, Tony Christian of Atlanta and Charles Reid, Jr. of Eatonton; great-nieces, Chloe Reid and Malea Reid of Eatonton; a special aunt, Mrs. Annie Martin of Atlanta, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
