Tie-Breaker Makes Difference, Again

JAN LEWIS, JUSTIN DEARRO

Jan Lewis of Monticello was one of only two people who correctly picked the winners in as many as 13 games listed in last week’s Monticello News football contest. Ms. Lewis beat Cathy Davis, who also got 13 right, by picking a closer tie-breaker. Some 59 points were scored in Georgia’s defeat of Georgia Tech Saturday, making Ms. Lewis’ 52 point guess closest.

For her effort, Ms. Lewis picked up a $25 check from Justin Dearro at Covington Ford in Covington. Ms. Lewis works in Decatur so she was able to go through Covington on her way home to collect her prize Monday.

Five other players got 12 right to also get their names, or another chance, added to the grand prize honor roll.

This is it folks. This week is the last chance to win $25 this year, and the last chance to get your name on the Grand Prize Honor Roll. Next week, we will run the Honor Roll list, and then on Saturday, Dec. 14, during the festivities on the Square, we will pick the winner. One lucky player will win four premium tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 28.

This week, one lucky player will collect at $25 prize form Yoder’s General Store, sponsor of the week.

Anyone can play, and anyone can win. This was Ms. Lewis’ first time getting on the honor roll this year. But she could win. So, whether novice or experienced player, all you must do is turn to the contest on page 11, complete the entry form or write on a separate piece of paper (please only one entry per piece of paper) and submit to The Monticello News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 6.

Entries may be faxed to 706-468-6576, e-mailed to info@themonticellonews.com or brought in person to 247 West Washington Street, Monticello. Please write legibly.
