7-8 Gray Canes Win Again

Football will continue for the 2019 Jasper County Recreation Department (JCRD) 7-8 Gray Canes. The undefeated squad remains so after a 32-6 defeat of the Greene County team Tuesday evening in the rain.

JCRD Director Roger Minter was excited to announce the victory and the impending trip to the championship game for the young squad. The 7-8 Gray Canes will now play a Putnam County team for the 7-8 title on Saturday, Nov. 9. The game will be played in Putnam and is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.

The team, now 7-0, includes Leland McGuire, Dejwan Andrews, Kason Beam, Zani Cole, Jack Davis, Kobe Davis, Bristyen Denny, John Goolsby, Jackson Haizlip, Nelson Hooberry, Peyton Hyman, Bryce Manville, Carter Peek, Andrew Pittman, Keilynd Porter, Lenox Sands, Wailer Sands, and KeMaryon Whidby.

The team is coached by Kerry Sands, Justin Haizlip, Amante Sands, Ben Manville, Matt Goolsby, and Jontae Sands.
