Lady Cougars Fall to Fullington
The Piedmont Academy varsity fast-pitch softball team suffered its biggest loss of the season at home Monday falling to Fullington 13-1.
The visiting Lady Trojans set the tone early with five runs in the top of the first inning. Fullington then added four runs in both the second and third innings.
The Lady Cougars did not score until the bottom of the fourth inning. The loss snapped a four game winning streak for Piedmont.
Looking to put that loss behind them the Lady Cougars will return to the field Thursday when they host Bethlehem Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. The game is a rematch from earlier in the season in which Piedmont won handily.
The Lady Cougars, now 8-4 overall and 3-1 in region play, will close out the regular season next week with a home game against John Milledge on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and a road game at Brentwood on Thursday, Oct. 10.
