George Walker Bearden, Jr.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, George Walker Bearden, Jr., of Sautee, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home. He was 72.

Walker was born on January 9, 1947 to George Walker Bearden, Sr. and Opal “Bea” Bearden. After graduating from Monticello High School in 1965 he went on to further his studies at Middle Georgia College and the University of Tennessee. Prior to retirement he worked in real estate in North Georgia. He was loved by many and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and his parents, Walker and Opal “Bea” Bearden.

He is survived by his sister, Beth (Cary) Walton of Eatonton; nephew, Ryan (Tonya) Walton of Blue Ridge; nieces, Kaci (Huey) Walker of Soperton, and Camillle (Omar) Hasan of Atlanta; five grt-nieces and three great-nephews. He is also survived by his dear friend and caregiver, Charlene Hammersen.

He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family. A private memorial will be held by his family.
