Deborah Ozburn Turner

Deborah Ozburn Turner, age 67, of Macon, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

“Debbie” Turner was a native of Jasper County and lived in Macon until moving back to Monticello a year ago. Her parents were the late William Lanier Ozburn and Mary Jean Nelson Ozburn.

Debbie was a member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church, and she lived for her family and grandchildren.

She loved to ride horses and barrel raced in high school. She was a cheerleading coach and worked in the library at Tattnall Square Academy in Macon, for a number of years. She was also a real estate agent for Re/Max in Bolingbroke.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Charles Anthony “Tony” Turner of Macon; son, Hank (Cindy) Alexander of Watkinsville; step-son, Brett (Jennifer) Turner of Buford; grandchildren, Kaylee Alexander, Alyssa Alexander, Brayden Turner and Katelyn Turner; mother-in-law, Merlon Turner of Gordon; and a number of cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at the Monticello First United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery. Rev. David Artessa and Pastor Kara Wilson will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Ozburn, Scott Riner, Charlie C. Sands, Casey Young, Cody Freeman, Greg Turner and Gerald Garner.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at Jordan Funeral Home.
