Middle School Lady Cougars Win Again

It was another game and another victory for the Piedmont Academy Middle School softball team on Tuesday.

The Lady Cougars recorded a 14-1 victory against visiting Central Fellowship. Piedmont recorded 12 hits while limiting Central Fellowship to just two.

Bailey Mobley, Emily Whitwell and Marissa Holder led the offense with two hits each. Mobley and Ellie McCart both drove in three runs.

Carly Meredith, Jayleigh Vaughn and Carlie Wilbanks drew walks.

Whitwell had another strong performance in the pitcher’s circle with six strikeouts.

The Lady Cougars took control of the game quickly on Tuesday. After allowing Central Fellowship a run in the top of the first inning the Lady Cougars then scored 10 runs in the bottom half. Piedmont added four more runs in the bottom of the second.

It was also a solid day defensively as the Lady Cougars made no errors in the field.

The Middle School Lady Cougars will travel to Gatewood on Tuesday, Sept. 17, for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
