Junior Pro Cougars Are Impressive in Opener

Piedmont Academy’s Junior Pro Football team posted an impressive victory in its season opener last week.

The young Cougars defeated Rock Springs 26-0 on the road. It was a dominant performance in all phases as Piedmont’s defense did not allow a first down the entire game.

Jake Adamson had a 60-yard touchdown pass for the Junior Pro Cougars to Gavin McCart. The two-point conversion was also successful.

Hunter Thompson found the end zone on a strong 50-yard run. Coby Cook added touchdown runs of 55 and 40 yards.

Braxton Floyd, Corbett Crews, Davis Downs, Kason Martin, Reid Carter and Weston Webb led the defensive effort.

The Junior Pro Cougars consist of players in fourth through sixth grades. They are coached by Clint Adamson and Mike McCart. The team was scheduled to host Flint River on Wednesday.
