Annie Laura (Slaton) Byers
Annie Laura (Slaton) Byers of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at Piedmont Newton Hospital. She was 78.
She was born in Atlanta to Junior Slaton and Corliss (Satterwhite) Hollingshead, who have both preceded her in death.
Annie was a devoted wife, mom/momma, granny, Granny Ann and loved by many. She enjoyed shopping, camping, the mountains and travelling out west, reading, and playing games. Annie loved her animals and never had a cross word toward anybody. She was a member of New Life Praise Center in Covington.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, John D. Byers of Mansfield; children, Marie Jones of Mansfield, Rose Ann and Tony Mullins of Locust Grove, and Jill Jones of Mansfield; grandchildren, Robin, R. J., Casey, Michael, Brandi, John, Niki and Deven; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at 4 p.m. at New Life Praise Center, 3144 Stone Mountain St, NW, Covington, with Pastor Justin Adams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.donate3.cancer.org.
