Identity Theft Is Prevalent Here

Officers with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated four separate cases of financial identity fraud, with one case involving more than one person, all in the last week.

In addition, two people complained of vehicle tags being taken. In addition, there was a burglary reported at a body shop on Northeast Street, and a purse taken from a vehicle at a Jackson Lake Road address.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Calvin Heath Ledford, 26, Covington—child molestation.

•Wylene Grant, 46, Covington—hold for warrant in DeKalb Co.

•Chelci A’Kia Wells, 25, Stone Mountain—probation violation.

•Lawrence Douglas Ringer, 61, Monticello—hold for warrant in Douglas Co.

•Jamie Glenn Purvis, 45, Mansfield—probation violation.

•Brenton Joshua Brown, 31, Mansfield—endangering a child while operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs, allowing underage children to ride in moving vessel without wearing personal flotation device and operation of watercraft under the influence of alcohol drugs or intoxicants.

•Michael Oneal Lyons, 52, Shady Dale—indecent exposure and public intoxication.

•Kendra Monique Hull, 38, Milledgeville—driving while license suspended or revoked and speeding.

•Michael Joe McCannon, 38 Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
