Teacher Is Charged with Sexual Assault
A Piedmont Academy teacher, listed on the school’s website Monday as assistant football coach and elementary physical education teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual assault against a person in custody.
Kurt Bo Brown II, 24, was apparently in a relationship with a student at the school. That is not allowed. Sheriff Donnie Pope explained it is the same as if a jailer takes advantage of a prisoner or any case where a person in charge of another acts in an inappropriate manner.
Tony Tanner, headmaster at the school, had no comment when reached by telephone Tuesday. He did confirm Mr. Brown had been terminated from his position.
Other activity in the last week included a burglary with forced entry at an address on Hwy. 16, however, the report did not indicate what was taken.
