Fire/Rescue Responds To Calls

AEMT /FF Robert Thompson(l), Paramedic/FF Suzanne Ward Gear Up For Live Fire Check Off During Class

March proved to be another busy month for Jasper County Fire Rescue which responded to a total of 158 calls, including six structure fires with one being a commercial structure (commercial fire contained to equipment inside structure), 20 brush/woods fires, two vehicle fires with one being a boat on Jackson Lake. Also, six fire alarms, nine motor vehicle accidents, a gas leak, and 11 miscellaneous calls.

Jasper County Fire Rescue participated in a regional NPQ Firefighter 1, NPQ Hazmat Awareness and NPQ Hazmat Operations held at Morgan County Fire Department. Students have been attending class since October 8, 2018 and finished the class on March 28, 2019. Students attended 44 classes in all totaling 176 hours.

Jasper County Fire Rescue would like to congratulate full time employee Paramedic Jamie Bishop, part time employee Paramedic Suzanne Ward, part time employee AEMT Robert Thompson and Volunteer Carl Smith for completing NPQ Firefighter 1 and NPQ Hazmat Awareness and Operations.

This makes all of Jasper County Fire Rescue full time staff 100 percent crossed trained in both Fire and EMS which is a first in our departments history, said Chief Chris Finch.

On March 12, New Rocky Creek Baptist Church donated snacks and drinks for weekly training along with bibles for every station. Thanks for the community support!
