Election Is Tuesday

Only 60 people had early voted for the District 4 commission seat as of Tuesday afternoon. Some 2,000 are eligible to vote in that district, and the election is set for next Tuesday, March 19.

Willie Lee Simmons and Gerald Stunkel both have qualified for the seat. Tomorrow, March 15, is the last day for early voting, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Courthouse.

There has been no forum, and candidates have not used the newspaper to share their beliefs.

Voters may vote at the Courthouse or at Martin and Burney next Tuesday, depending on where they are registered to vote. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
