Willie Lee Simmons Seeks Commission Seat

LEE SIMMONS

Willie “Lee” Simmons has announced his intention to seek the District 4 open County Commissioner seat.

“I have lived and owned property in Jasper County since 2001. My wife Lisa Simmons is a life long resident of Jasper County and both of our now adult children, Heather Lunsford and Ashley Hegwood, attended and graduated from Jasper County Schools and currently one grandchild, Hayden Hegwood attends school here. I am a committed resident of Jasper County. I currently live on Palalto Road but I have always lived in District 4,” said Mr. Simmons.

“I have been involved with Woodmen Life Chapter 1240 as past and current president. I am retired from the military with 22 years of service and the Union 669 Sprinkler Fitters association. My wife and I owned and operated our own trucking business for eight years here in Jasper County.

“With all of this said I am here and willing to serve Jasper County as the new County Commissioner of District 4 with your support on election day March 19.”

Early voting is currently under way, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Friday, March 15, being the last day to early vote.

So far, only 29 of the approximately 2,000 voters in that district have cast their vote.
