Judge Trammell Presides Over Court

Jasper Superior Court Judge Brenda Trammell presided over the motion day calendar proceedings on January 29 as there were more than usual civil cases and a light criminal docket.

During the criminal proceedings, Marcus Sam Croy, Jr. was sentenced to 10 years with the first 120-180 days in a state probation detention center for computer pornography with a charge of obscene internet contact with a child nolle prossed. He was fined $2,000.

Melinda Beth Hill, sentenced to seven years with the first 180 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 90-120 days for two charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute. Charges of crossing the guard line with contraband and possession of methamphetamine were nolle prossed. Fined $1,500.

Amber Renee Voorhies, sentenced to 12 months of probation for giving false information to a law enforcement officer. Charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of controlled substance by inmate were nolle prossed. Fined $500.

Colette Renee James, sentenced to 12 months of probation for pointing a gun at another. Fined. $500.

Thomas Robert Anderson, probation revoked to 180 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into the GDC residential substance abuse treatment program. He committed a new offense of burglary in the first degree in November 2018 and pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine in Bartow County.

David Mitchell, probation revoked to 180 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center and will be credited for time served since November 2018. He committed a new offense of theft by shoplifting in Dekalb County, failed to report to the probation office, and failed to pay court fines.

William Lansburg, probation revoked to the state penal system until February 2021 for new offense of possession of methamphetamine, three counts of identity fraud, and theft by taking in Newton County.

Grant Gierman, probation revoked to one day in Jasper County jail for failure to complete community service and risk reduction course.

Jovante Alexander, probation revoked to 10 days in Jasper County jail and was credited with time served for a new offense of driving without a license.

A bond was ordered for Matthew Walker for a possession of schedule I with intent to distribute charge and bond was denied for Walter Lee Dorough three drug related charges, theft by taking, and criminal trespass.
