Madison McCart Is GISA All Star

Piedmont Academy senior Madison McCart was recently named to the GISA All-Star Basketball Team.

Participants in the All-Star game will play two games. The first game will be the Red vs Blue All-Star Basketball game played between two teams representing the GISA on Friday, March 1 at Augusta Preparatory School at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 2 the All-Star Team will face off against the an All-Star team from the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCIAS) at noon.

Additionally, Madison has been selected to play in the NAAPS Basketball All-American Game which will be held March 30 at Welch College in Gallatin, Tenn.

The All-Star selections are a culmination of hard work for Madison while a member of the Lady Cougars basketball team. She has been a member of the varsity team since eighth grade, a starter since ninth grade, a four year captain for the team, and over the last two seasons has averaged double digits in points and rebounds for the season. Madison has been named first team All-Region following her freshman, sophomore, and junior years as well as all-state following her junior season.

In addition to basketball, Madison is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, track, cheerleading squad, and peer mentor.
