Football Awards Banquet Is Held
The Jasper County High School varsity football Hurricanes conducted their annual sports banquet honoring the players for work during the past season.
Rydell Jackson finished his first season as head coach for the Hurricanes with a 5-5 overall record and a trip to the state playoffs.
Awards given during the event include Chance Hope the Purple Heart Award, Ben Lynch the Academic Award, Jamel Gude the Defensive Pride Award, Keeshawn Ammons the Outstanding Junior Varsity Player, A.K. Walker the Defensive Lineman Award, Jacob Parrish the Offensive Line Award, Max Dotson the Coach’s Award, Jay Fleetwood the Golden Helmet Award, Johari Stone the Most Improved, and Dillon Jackson the Offensive Pride Award.
Those receiving weight lifting awards include Jaylen Peete, Jamel Gude, Chance Hope, Cam Jackson, Matt Cain, Tyler Wages, Jeremiah Jackson, and Michael Clendenin.
Also awarded were Lineman of the Week recipients Ben Lynch, Tyler Wages, Chance Watts, A.K. Walker, Jacob Parrish, Jalen Peete, Hyrum Pierce, and Johari Stone.
