Hurricanes Split Action Against Greene County

The Monticello Hurricane varsity squads split action in their latest foray against Greene County on Saturday.

The Lady Canes earned a home court 53-41 win over the Lady Tigers. The competition was a good warm up for the three-day Christmas tournament that the ladies will begin competing in today, Dec. 27.

Meanwhile, the Canes fell 71-59 as the team continues to struggle to find its stride. Unlike their female counterparts the Canes will not be competing in a holiday tournament.

The varsity squads will begin a four game region streak that begins with Alumni Night hosting Putnam County on Friday, Jan. 4 at Jasper County Middle School beginning with the junior varsity boys at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m. The following day the varsity squads will host Rabun County at Jasper County High School beginning at 6 p.m.
