Clyde George Hayes

Clyde George Hayes, 79, of Mansfield, entered into rest Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

He was born to the late George Carl Hayes and Lydia Marguerite Hayes (Plemmons).

Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as golfing, fishing, hunting, and especially barbecuing. Clyde took great pride in his work as a pipefitter and was a member of Atlanta Plumber and Pipefitters Local 72.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha “Susie” Hayes of Mansfield; children, David and wife, Amy Hayes of Dunwoody, Michael Hayes of Roswell; grandchildren, Grace, Gregory, and Daniel Hayes; brother, Carl Hayes of Hampton; sister, Joan Cain of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. A celebration service for Mr. Hayes will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home.
