Brooke Tillman Shelton

Brooke Tillman Shelton, age 29, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018, surrounded by family and friends, at Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon.

Brooke Shelton was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. She was a graduate of Jasper County High School, and worked for the United States Postal Service as a city carrier in Macon, and later in Milledgeville.

Brooke’s loving and caring nature was well known to her family and friends, with whom she loved to spend time. She and her husband, Michael had recently celebrated their first anniversary. This love also extended to animals. She was particularly concerned about homeless animals and dreamed of opening a shelter.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Allen Shelton of Monticello; step-daughter, Kaitlyn Shelton of Monticello; parents, Neal and Patsy Tillman of Hillsboro, and Crystal Churchwell Mathews (Greg Williams) of Eatonton; Grandparents, Beth Doles of Forsyth, and Lola Churchwell of Eatonton; sister, Christina (Marshall) Diaz of Monticello; step-brother, Jeremy Elder of Eatonton; niece and nephew, Lexi Tillman of Hillsboro, and Bryer Diaz of Monticello; aunts, uncles and cousins; and special fur babies, Mia and Max.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Monticello Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Rev. Len Woodard will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 15, 2018, prior to the service at the Monticello Baptist Church.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Jasper County Animal Shelter, 126 Mack Tillman Drive, Monticello, Georgia 31064, or the Loraine Dumas Outreach Ministry 150 Sugar Hill Road, Hillsboro, Georgia 31038.
