Sign Up Now for Parade

Interested persons, businesses, clubs and organizations still have time to get their parade entry in for the first Light Up Monticello Christmas Parade planned for Saturday, Dec. 15.

Clubs, organizations, churches, bands, schools, businesses or storeowners are encouraged to have an entry in the parade. There will be prize money for the “Best of Show,” “1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place” entries.

Shoppers can start the day at 10 a.m. with shopping at local businesses. The Monticello Civic Club will be hosting the Jack Yearwood Pancake Supper on the Square and the Get Ahead House will be selling hot dogs starting at 3 pm.

At 4 p.m., the lighted Christmas Parade will begin. Santa will arrive (via parade) and visit with the children, and there will be an opportunity to take photos and enjoy cookies with him near the lighted Christmas tree on the Square until 6:30.p.m.

Choirs will be providing music, singing Christmas carols from 5:30 – 6:30 as well.
