Financial Transaction Card Fraud Abounds

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received six different reports of financial transaction card fraud during the last week.

They also responded to a report of burglary on Jasper Street where a black dirt bike was reported stolen. Hooper Trailer Sales also reported a theft. An entering auto charge resulted from activity at M&M Auto Sales on Funderburg Drive.

It was apparently a slow week for crime, as only a few people were arrested. They include:

•Jonquavis Deshon Dumas, 34, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Shirley Wise Benton, 59, Monticello—probation violation.

•Justin Levar Bostic, 38, Monticello—probation violation.

•Patrick James Harvard, 28, Mansfield—use of communication facility in commission of a felony (three counts) and Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.

•Donice Melvin Nicholson, Jr., 57, Newborn—simple battery.

•Bradley Wyatt Nicholson, 20, Newborn—simple battery.

•James Frank Dixon, 62, Milledgeville—tail light violation and driving while license suspended or revoked.
