Financial Transaction Card Fraud Is Popular
It’s beginning to look a lot like…the season to steal credit/debit/gift cards.
Jasper County Deputies responded to four cases of financial transaction card fraud in the last week alone. This is where fraudulent charges have been made on a person’s card. So, everyone is advised to keep cards in a safe place.
Deputies also responded to a report of the theft of a 9mm handgun from an address on Turtle Cove Trailway, and to a report of theft at a gate on Millen road, where trail camera and solar chargers were taken. A resident on Brookwood Drive reported the theft of a radio, speakers, and more along with a cordless hammer and drill set and the spare tire from his vehicle. In addition , deputies responded to reports of forgery at Ameris Bank in Monticello.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Rhonda Cherie Randall, 52, Monticello—forgery-4th degree (four counts).
•William Anthony Dowdy, Jr., 27, Conyers—drug related objects.
•Timothy Lynwood, Jr., 30, Newborn—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Nadya Shunta Burrell, 26, Stockbridge—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Jacob Lee Holland, 33, Monticello—probation violation.
•Gregory Lorosco Thurman, 53, Monticello—probation violation, possession of cocaine, Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Ronnie Butts, 51, Monticello—possession of cocaine and drug related objects.
•Ashley Nichole Anglin, 33, Porterdale—probation violation.
•Taylor Dawn Chamlee, 26, McDonough—possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Kenneth Aaron Christian, 27, Griffin—possession of methamphetamine, failure to maintain lane, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and drug related objects.
•David Lawson, 56, Eatonton—possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of cocaine, failure to maintain lane and drugs not in original container.
•Jamie Glenn Purvis, 45, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Bridgette Juanell McClure, 32, Griffin—possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
•Jeffrey Dean Lindsey, 34, Covington—tail light violation and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Miguel Angel Vargas, 25, Newborn—driving while unlicensed.
