Preston James Nelson

Preston James Nelson, age 21 months, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon.

Preston Nelson was born in Covington. He enjoyed going for rides and loved animals.

Preston was preceded in death by his uncle Richmond James “Richie” Steele; cousin, Chandler McLendon; and grandfather, Gerald Steele.

He is survived by his parents, Savannah Nicole Steele of Monticello, and Brian Jamal Nelson of Eatonton; grandparents, Belinda and Jeff Schell of Monticello, Mike and Angie Steele of Monticello, and Yolanda Nelson of Eatonton; great-grandparents, Elaine “Winky” Barnett and Ray Camp of Forsyth, Linda Steele of Buford, Cindy Schell of Covington, Roy Tarleton of Monticello, and Walter Lee and Willie Kate Nelson of Eatonton; “Nanny”, Becky Moore of Monticello; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Monticello Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Williams Payne Cemetery. Revs. Charles Roper and Jeremy Tondee will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Steele, Carlos Rhodes, Aaron Nelson, and Ryan Nelson.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Monticello Baptist Church.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Bank of Monticello for the Steele Family fund, P. O. Box 29, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
