Marvin Brown
A celebration of the life of Marvin Brown was held Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello. Rev. Dr. Donna Marie Calix, eulogist; Rev. Reginald Jacobs is pastor.
Marvin Brown was born March 1, 1954 to the late Theresa and James Brown. He attended Jasper County schools and was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.
Marvin enjoyed being with his family, fishing, grilling, and taking care of his “Red Truck.”
A son, Timothy, and two sisters, Rosia Jackson and Louise Sands, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 38 years, Kathy Standifer Brown; son, Carlos Brown; and a daughter, Chandra Brown; a brother, Phillip Brown; three sisters, Phillis (Ben) Thomas, Suzette Gude and Debra (Suvene) Lester, seven grandchildren, Chyenne, Jadon, Iya, Sereniti, Rihanna, Jahmir, Kenterris and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
