Cheryl Rae Faulkner Johnston

Cheryl Rae Faulkner Johnston, age 58, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at her residence.

Cheryl was born in Riverside, Calif., on September 14, 1960. Her parents were the late Warren Donald Faulkner and LaVaile Montgomery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother that raised her, Mary Faulkner; brother, Mark Faulkner; and sister, Donna Sanders.

Cheryl attended Jasper County High School, and began her career in banking. She worked for the Bank of Mansfield for six years, and McIntosh State Bank in Jackson, for 26 years.

Cheryl loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved horses and the beach. She attended New Hope Methodist Church, and Enon Baptist Church.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Roy Talmadge Johnston of Monticello; daughter, Erin (Tyler) Long of Monticello; grandchildren, Brooke Wayt and Grayson Long; special friend, Jim Stone of Monticello; brothers, John Faulkner of Montana, and Matt Faulkner of Rutledge; sisters, Crystal Thompson of Cherokee, N.C., and Amy Robinson of Mansfield; and aunt, Merry H. Faulkner of Mansfield.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Jordan Funeral Home.
