Roy Lee Roberson, Sr.

A memorial service for Roy Lee Roberson, Sr., who died October 6, 2018, was held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Horton is pastor.

Mr. Roberson was born December 29, 1954 in Jones County. He attended Jones County High School. He was one of 10 children born to the late Will Henry and Elizabeth Roberson. He was employed with Georgia-Pacific for 43 years until he retired. Mr. Roberson connected to the Church of Christ December 13, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents Will Henry and Elizabeth Roberson; brothers, Walter, Charles, Michael, Larry and Clinton; son, Ramon Benton; mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Jackson; father-in-law, Johnny William Jackson, and brother-in-law Wayne Jackson.

Mr. Roberson leaves to cherish his memories his loving devoted wife, Rosetta Roberson; daughters, Tamika (Patrick) Norwood and Rosalyn (Hugh) Hession; sons, Roy Lee (Ashley) Roberson, Jr., and Mikus Benton; four sisters, Patricia Holmes, wen Wiggins, Valerie (Ervin) Anderson, and Senesta Roberson.

Also, six grandchildren. Kenshaw (Lyric) Roberson, Keaton A. Thomas, Kali R. Thomas, Kennedy Hession, Lyric Norwood, and Patrickia Norwood; three great-grandchildren, Harmony Hollingsworth, Melody Roberson and Maddox Roberson; four brothers-in-law, Jimmy Jackson, Kelvin )Sonja) Jackson, Derwin (Jackie) Jackson and Richard Jackson; one favorite sister-in-law, Sue Ann Kemp and a ghost of nieces nephews and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
