Joseph Floyd Tillman

Joseph Floyd Tillman, age 69, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Floyd Tillman was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro. His parents were the late John Taylor “J.T.” Tillman and Marie Goolsby Tillman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Lea Howard Tillman in September of 1997; and daughter, Meredith Taylor Tillman in March of 2012.

In August of 2016, he married Emma Osborne.

Floyd Tillman retired after 41 years as a welder for Warner Robins Air Force Base. After retirement six years ago, he enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, and wood working of all types, which included making furniture and using his sawmill. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Floyd was a kind and gentle person that would go out of his way to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Osborne Tillman of Hillsboro; daughter, Mallette (Bubba) Wilson of Monticello; grandchildren, Becky Leigh Wilson, Taylor Jo Wilson, Braxton Clay Wilson, and Benjamin Tripp Wilson; step-children, Missy (Ragen) Skinner of Gray, Amy (James) Presley of Hillsboro, Christy (Luke) Richardson of Adel, and Shane (Crystal) Greenway of Shreveport, La.; step-grandchildren, Chandler Jackson, Clay Presley, Masie Bryant, Karlee Skinner, Tristen Richardson, Ethan Richardson, Raylan Richardson, Emma Richardson, and Wyatt Greenway; step-great grandchild, Isaiah Jackson.

Also, sister and brothers, Gayle (Ronnie) Marsh, Kenneth (Pat) Tillman, and Ronnie (Kathy) Tillman, all of Hillsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Fullerton Memorial Gardens in Hillsboro. Dr. Randal Reese will officiate.

The family was to receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Jordan Funeral Home.
