Ball Game Is Site of Three Thefts
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s office are investigating several reports of entering auto after the Hurricanes ball game last Friday night at Rose Bowl Field. Apparently, at least three cars were broken into. in the area of Thomas Persons Hall. Designer purses containing all that purses contain were taken in two of the cases.
Deputies are also looking into a case of ID fraud where driver’s license information was obtained from a local person and used to create another driver’s license with an Atlanta address. Jasper County’s Chief Registrar Carole Norris questioned the address change, as she knew the person, and alerted here.
There were also two cases in the last week of mail being taken from mailboxes, both on Hwy. 212 west. In addition, a person in Campbell’s Crossroads experienced the same type of identification theft when their information off their check was used to create other checks with another name, and used for payment.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Jaquatica Lucinda Butts, 20, Eatonton—probation violation.
•Philip Lamond Heard, Jr., 44, Lawrenceville—possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended/revoked, no tag, open container, no proof of insurance and drug related objects.
•Francis Godfrey Leverette, 50, Monticello—child support.
•Dustin Travis Jeffrey, 24, Monticello—driving while unlicensed and speeding.
•Johnny Ray Durance, 43, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine (two counts).
•David Nicholas Long, 27, Commerce—theft by taking (three counts) and criminal damage to property-2nd degree (five counts).
•Jonathan Jaben Hardin, III, 58, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.
•Jason John Peplin, 40, Monticello—aggravated stalking (two counts).
•Lisa Nannett Miller, 54, Newborn—deposit account fraud.
•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, 55, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts and aggravated assault.
